Human subtilase SKI-1/S1P is a master regulator of the HCV life cycle. PLoS Pathogens 2012 Jan;8(1):e1002468.

Development of a specific inhibitor targeting SKI-1/S1P, a host enzyme required for lipid production in human cell. We show that inhibiting SKI-1/S1P activity in human liver cells effectively blocks lipid droplet formation and HCV infection. Our discovery was underlined in Nature’s Science-Business Exchange.
