The emerging field of developmental robotics integrates the research tools, experimental paradigms, and theories of psychology, computer science, engineering, neuroscience, and other related disciplines.  The ICIS preconference workshop will provide a comprehensive introduction to the robot platforms and research methods of developmental robotics. In addition, invited speakers will describe their recent findings from work on language acquisition, social interaction, perceptual and cognitive development, and motor-skill acquisition.
